When Opaline is the better fit
- You want the everyday tools without paying for cloud storage.
- You’d rather pay once than renew updates or subscribe.
- You want captures to stay on your Mac.
When CleanShot X is the better fit
If you rely on cloud share links, custom domains or team management, CleanShot X has those and Opaline doesn’t.
Switching over
Opaline’s shortcuts use ⇧⌘ plus a key, like ⇧⌘S for an area, and leave macOS’s own ⇧⌘3, ⇧⌘4 and ⇧⌘5 alone. Every shortcut can be changed in Settings, so you can keep the ones your fingers already know.
