Download Opaline and every feature is unlocked for 14 days — no account or card needed. When the trial ends, enter a license key to keep capturing. Your capture history is kept either way.

No. You pay $9.99 once and the app is yours.

After checkout you’ll see your license key on the confirmation page. In Opaline, open the menu bar icon › License…, paste the key and click Activate. One key works on up to 3 of your Macs, and you can deactivate a Mac to move the license to another.

Any Mac with Apple silicon running macOS 15 Sequoia or later.

Enter your purchase email on the Lost your key? page and we’ll email your key straight away. If Opaline is still activated on one of your Macs, you can also copy it from Settings › License.

Never. Opaline has no cloud component. Capturing, editing, recording and text recognition all happen on your Mac, and history is stored locally in your Library folder.

Screen Recording, to capture your screen. Microphone and Camera are only requested if you turn on voice or the webcam bubble, and Accessibility only if you want keystrokes shown in recordings.

Yes. Opaline ships with its own shortcuts so nothing clashes. If you prefer the classic keys, turn off the system screenshot shortcuts in System Settings › Keyboard and assign them to Opaline in Settings › Shortcuts.

Screenshots save as PNG or JPG. Recordings save as MP4 (H.264) or animated GIF. You can also copy straight to the clipboard or drag a capture into any app.
